Apple's HomePad Rumors Heat Up as October Event Watch Begins

Somewhere in Cupertino, a smart home hub has been "coming soon" for so long it probably has its own fan fiction. According to fresh reporting, Apple's long-rumored HomePad may finally be ready, and Apple watchers are refreshing their inboxes this week waiting for an invite.

Bloomberg reports that Apple plans to unveil new products on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, led by HomePad, the smart home hub that's been rumored for years. Joining it are a next-generation HomePod mini and an AI-powered Apple TV 4K with Siri integration. As 9to5Mac notes, the report doesn't confirm whether Apple will hold an actual event or just publish a round of press releases.

9to5Mac reviewed Apple's October event history since 2010 and found the company usually sends invites six to thirteen days ahead. If a show is planned, that puts the announcement window between Monday, October 5 and Wednesday, October 7. Further out, the rumor list for the year still includes an OLED iPad mini, refreshed iMacs, and MacBook Pro models with touchscreens.

The Hub Is Really About Siri

The HomePad itself is the easy part. The real story is that Apple's whole October lineup appears built around a smarter, AI-powered Siri living in your house. A home hub is only as good as the assistant inside it, and Apple has spent the last couple of years watching rivals ship AI assistants while Siri waited for its upgrade.

The angle most people miss: if Apple puts a capable AI assistant on a screen in the kitchen, it changes how ordinary people expect to find information. Voice and AI answers will shape how customers discover businesses, menus, and service hours, and websites with clean, well-structured content are the ones those assistants can actually read and use.
