Meta Wants to Run Your Small Business's To-Do List Now

Zuckerberg spent a decade convincing us to argue with strangers about politics on his platform. Now he wants his AI to run your inventory, your ad campaigns, and possibly your entire Tuesday.

One Agent, Every Tool You Already Pay For

On September 29, Meta launched Muse for Small Business, an expansion of its AI agent that plugs into the software small businesses already run — Zoom, Slack, QuickBooks, Shopify, Canva, Stripe, GitHub, Figma, Box, and Asana are among the growing list of partners. The pitch: give Muse a goal, like "find new customers" or "manage my cash flow," and it works the chain of tasks autonomously.

It also connects directly to a business's Meta ad accounts and Instagram or Facebook pages, so it can draft ad campaigns and read social analytics without anyone touching Ads Manager. Pricing mirrors the existing Muse app — free with usage limits, subscription beyond that.

Meta's Eyeing 200 Million Very Small Customers

This launch lands one day after Meta unveiled a separate "Meta Enterprise Platform," and together they signal a company that's done treating AI as a chatbot feature and started treating it as a subscription business. Meta says 200 million small business owners already use its platform — that's the addressable market, and Zuckerberg clearly isn't shy about wanting a cut of it.

The real story isn't the feature list, it's the integration model: instead of building a walled garden, Meta is wiring Muse straight into the tools businesses already trust with their money and customer data. That's convenient right up until you ask who's auditing what an autonomous agent is allowed to touch across ten connected accounts.

An AI that can log into your Stripe, your Slack, and your ad account is either the best hire you never interviewed or the biggest single point of failure your business has ever had — probably both.

If you're weighing whether to hand an AI agent the keys to your business tools, the WTK team helps clients build that integration properly instead of bolting it on and hoping — let's talk.
